OSP Cable Pulling Technician (Traveling role)

RESPONSIBILITIES: Safely drive, operate, and maintain company vehicles Maintain tool, material, and required safety gear inventory Provide the needed services for the construction, operation, and maintenance of ALLO FTTP Networks Maintain thorough compliance with all federal, state, and local safety requirements Maintain and repair underground fiber optic facilities Install new hardware, fiber optic cable, and Multi Service Terminals in pedestals Set a good example by always following and teaching safe practices Present a positive and professional image for ALLO, serving as the initial public face of the company Review and ascertain quality standards on department training and assessment materials. Perform other duties as required and/or assigned Colorado Residents: typical pay range for this role will be from $18.00 - $25.00 per hour depending on experience. EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent EXPERIENCE: 3 Months or more of relevant experience Knowledge of basic fiber installation principles Service Excellence Must be a team player Perform routine underground cable pulling work Knowledge of ALLO installation-construction procedures Ability to work under pressure to successfully complete assigned tasks Ability to work with and understand fiber splicing designs Compliant with proper safety standards, procedures, and work practices Communicate effectively to internal and external customers PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to raise objects up to 50 lbs Remain upright on feet for extended periods Remain stationary for extended periods Ability to communicate information Ability to crouch and crawl Move on foot up to 10 miles per day Ability to bend, kneel, stand Ability to carry tools and equipment Ability to observe details at far range and judge distance and space relationships Ability to operate hand tools and equipment Ability to work outdoors, even in extreme weather conditions OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Possess a valid Driver’s License Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check Must have reliable form of transportation Availability for weekend on-call duty, as required Within the first 90 days you will be expected to complete the following: Learn all the basic functions of cable pulling, backing up truck and trailer, and proficient in pulling MST’s. Complete the following trainings: Traffic control safety, OSHA 10, Distracted Driver, Standardized cable pulling, and Spotter training. Complete a DOT Physical to receive a DOT Medical Card. OSP Cable Pulling Tech I is an entry level position responsible for performing diversified work related to the new construction and maintenance of FTTP networks. This position supports the OSP Team and works with other associates from the department to construct and deploy all-fiber facilities throughout residential and commercial communities.
* This is a full-time traveling position and successful candidates will work a 21/9 rotation away from their home. If you are located near an ALLO market, you may be assigned a local rotation, if you are assigned a local rotation with no travel involved, you will not receive the 9 days off and be expected to work based on business
